On your
first visit we will have a preliminary consultation during which I
will take details of your medical history, lifestyle factors and other relevant
information. This will enable me to determine whether I need to tailor your
treatment specifically for you as an individual. I will then begin to work on
your feet, or hands if necessary, noting any problem areas. There may be
discomfort in some places, but it is fleeting, and is an indication of
congestion or imbalance in a corresponding
part of the body. For the most part, the sensation is pleasant and soothing.
Usually a treatment session lasts between 45 minutes to 1 hour. A course of treatment varies in length depending on your body's needs and I will discuss this with you at the first session. You should bear in mind that reflexology comes into it's own when it is a regular part of your lifestyle. One treatment, whilst pleasant and relaxing, is unlikely to produce any long term affects.
After the first treatment or two your body may respond in a very definite way: for example you may have a feeling of well-being and relaxation. Some people have a short aggravation of symptoms as a prelude to feeling better. The responses people experience vary from person to person and I can discuss this with you in more detail at your consultation. These responses will provide me with vital information showing how your body is responding to treatment.
Since reflexology treats not just the symptoms of disease, but the whole person, most people benefit from treatment. Reflexology is suitable for:

For more detailed information on specific conditions please click here. Many people like to enhance the experience of a reflexology treatment by listening to relaxing music and often drift off to sleep during the treatment. Others prefer to chat. At the end of the treatment I'll tell you about any area where I've identified congestion or imbalance and I'll also ask you to tell me whether you felt any unusual sensations during the treatment. We'll then discuss a treatment plan and I may give you some general aftercare advice around water intake or nutrition, for example. Ultimately, the only way to really find out what reflexology is like is by experiencing it for yourself, so why not contact me now to make an appointment. You'll be glad you did!
