Treatment FAQ's

Who can benefit from Reflexology?

Since reflexology treats not just the symptoms of disease, but the whole person, most people benefit from treatment. Reflexology has been shown to be effective for:

Indeed, reflexology can benefit almost everyone. An increasing number of people are using this safe, natural therapy as a way of relaxing, balancing and harmonising the body. Have a look at my dedicated reflexology website here for some more information.

How much does each treatment cost?

Treatment costs at my clinics are detailed on the prices page of the site. The cost for a consultation and treatment in your home or place of work is just £40 provided my travelling time, each way, is 30 minutes or less. If travelling time is negligible, a discount can be offered.  If you live or work further away, I will be happy to quote you a price or, if you wish, give you details of a qualified Reflexologist in your area.

How many treatments should I have?

This will depend upon your individual circumstances and can be discussed in detail at your first treatment session. Many people have treatments to aid them with a specific health problem. Weekly treatments reviewed after a few weeks might be of benefit in these circumstances, whereas others simply enjoy the deeply relaxing experience and book regular monthly “maintenance” sessions.

Are there any circumstances in which reflexology would not be advisable?

Reflexology is a very safe form of treatment but it may not be suitable for people suffering with deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis or blood clots.

The first three months of pregnancy is a time for caution, particularly if the expectant mother has a history of unstable pregnancies, since reflexology promotes hormone function.  Later in pregnancy reflexology can be extremely beneficial.

Can reflexology have an effect on any medication I am taking?

Reflexology works by helping the body function at an optimal level. There are some circumstances where this may mean that you don’t need as high a dose of medication as you would do when not attending for reflexology. However any change in dosage or frequency of medication must always be discussed with your doctor prior to altering medication. Contrary to popular belief, reflexology cannot “flush the system” of medication.
